Ranking the Five most Disappointing Tennessee Titans in 2023

The 2023 Tennessee Titans have established themselves as the worst team in the Mike Vrabel Era. The Two-Tone Blue have already been eliminated from playoff contention and continue to shoot themselves in the foot with self-inflicted mistakes and inadequate discipline. Though the coaching staff deserves a good portion of the blame for Tennessee's struggles, some players on this roster haven't been as impactful as we hoped. Let's take a look at five Titans who couldn't meet expectations in 2023...

Andre Dillard, OT

Not only has Dillard been disappointing, but he's arguably been the worst offensive lineman in the entire NFL. Despite getting benched in Week 11 due to injuries and poor play, Dillard is still 2nd in the NFL in sacks given up by an offensive tackle with ten. Ran Carthon and Mike Vrabel expected the former Eagle to be the starter at Left Tackle for the next few years after he inked a three-year, $29 million contract in March. But Dillard has been nothing but a liability whenever he is on the field and will likely be released from the team when the offseason commences...

Kristian Fulton, CB

The rise and fall of the former LSU standout is an odd and peculiar one. Fulton should flashes of shutdown potential in his first few seasons, but everything fell apart for the pending free agent in 2023. When targeted in 2023, Fulton allowed a 114.1 passer rating and 75.5 completion%. Along with his subpar play, injuries continue to plague the 25-year-old, as he was placed on IR with a hamstring injury on December 13th. Tennessee expected Kristian to take that next jump and potentially establish himself as one of the better corners in the league, but he'll find himself on a new team in 2024...

Treylon Burks, WR

For some reason, Burks just can't figure it out and become an effective playmaker on a below-average offense. Though the former Razorback has been hit with the injury bug once again, 14 catches for 210 yards and ZERO TDs heading into Week 17 is unacceptable for a guy drafted in the first round. Treylon has fewer receiving yards and receptions than rookie RB Tyjae Spears this season. All hope isn't lost for Burks, but it's clear that Carthon and Vrabel are displeased with the young receiver's sophomore campaign...

Aaron Brewer, C

Brewer hasn't been awful as the starting center this season, but I expected more out of the former Texas State standout. The 26-year-old has allowed the second-most sacks out of all qualified centers with ten and has committed five penalties. We've also seen Brewer have trouble with his snaps, sailing the ball over Tennessee's signal callers on occasion. The Titans' offensive line has seen worse this season, but Brewer hasn't done enough to keep his starting spot heading into 2024...

Chig Okonkwo, TE

Chig has been good lately, but the first 11 weeks of the season were rough for the former Terp. The 24-year-old has struggled with drop issues this season, dropping the ball a total of five times (definitely more, but we'll let it slide). Many expected Okonkwo to take that second-year leap and potentially compete for a Pro Bowl spot, but that hasn't been the case. He's been better lately, but we need to see more out of the TE in 2024...
